WoW: Wrath of the Lich King Hands On
Eurogamer has posted a article about their visit to Blizzard and a chance at Wrath of the Lich King. It’s all summed up like this:
If Burning Crusade was a wild explosion of ideas, then Lich King is shaping up to be a smoothly orchestrated crescendo of them. It brings to mind the elegance, coherence and sense of direction of the Blood Elf starting areas – perhaps the jewel in Burning Crusade’s crown – only achieved across an entire continent.
“Northrend’s been kind of a coming home,” lead designer Jeff Kaplan told us. Despite the fact that Blizzard has been working on WOW non-stop for some eight years now, he maintains that his team is currently “in love with it”. As surprising as that it is, we don’t doubt it for a second. In every aspect of Wrath of the Lich King, it shows.
The article is a lengthy one and worth reading. It’s also accompanied by several screenshots. Enjoy!

Reader Halloween costumes 2008
Readers have already started sending in a few costumes for Halloween this year — if you’re dressing up as something from the World of Warcraft, don’t forget to take a picture and send it through our tipline. Reader Taytayflann of Frostmane assembled this great Bloodfang costume from a Horde hoodie that he bought — the shoulders, which took the longest to make, he says, are made out of shin pads, cardboard, wire, red and black cloth, and staples. They turned out really well, and even though it was probably tough putting them together, it was probably still easier and faster than traipsing around Blackwing Lair with 40 people trying to get the virtual set.
There are only a few pictures in the gallery below, but we’ll be adding in your entries from the tipline throughout the weekend (both of real-life and ingame costumes), so check back to see more. And don’t forget to have a safe and happy Halloween tonight from all of us here at WoW Insider.

Class/Race Achievement Titles
So a lot of people are upset about the new “first CLASSX to level to 80″ achievements/feats of strength, myself being one of those people. I’m not upset because I’ll never get the “I leveled my class to 80 first” title but because I’ll never get “awesome class title” or “homeland title”. The titles used just do not make sense. How is someone with no life a better Paladin or Blood elf than I am? Does it make them anymore loyal to Quel’thalas? Or any more of a Crusader? I really want to get one of those titles but I know that I’ll never be able to get them in their current form.
I have no problem that Blizzard award people titles for getting to 80 first but I do have a problem with them giving away a title that any player would be proud to wear.
So my suggestion is to change the “first class to level 80″ title to something like:
X the Achiever
X the Dedicated XClass
X… has no life (Joking about this one of course).
Anything like the above would be appropriate.
Then the class specific/race specific titles would be given away for completing a very long, complex level 80 class chain. You could also have a “homeland” quest
